"We need to protect Grenoside's heritage buildings" Adam Hurst, Grenoside Campaigner
Adam Hurst, Grenoside Campaigner

We are lucky in Grenoside to live in an area with such beautiful heritage buildings. Adam Hurst and the local Labour Team have been campaigning for several years to ensure that we protect heritage buildings, and we know that many residents have been concerned at the neglect of buildings such as the old Grenoside School. We were very dismayed that the building partially collapsed last week.

Adam says “I want us to express our desire as a community that this and other heritage buildings need to be protected. I’ve set up a petition to enable our voices to be heard”

“I was pleased that my Labour colleagues in the city Council recently put forward a motion adopting a heritage strategy for the city. Our north Sheffield Councillor Janet Ridler, the city’s Heritage Champion, intervened at the start of April and saved the historic Mappin Coffee House from demolition,”

“I’m asking that every effort is made to restore and conserve what is left of the Grenoside school building. Please fill in the petition below.”
