Our petition to resurface Monteney Road is still running- please sign if you haven’t already!

This petition was set up in 2022, following the local Labour Team’s success in getting Wordsworth Avenue resurfaced. Cllr Craig Gamble Pugh said: “Residents will remember how terrible the road had got on Wordsworth Avenue until 2021 when it finally got re-done. This came about following a year or more of lobbying by myself and former Labour Councillor Andy Bainbridge,”

“Now we want to do the same for Monteney Road- I’ve set up a petition calling on council contractor Amey to resurface it.”

East Ecclesfield campaigner Bridget Kelly has since taken up the cause: “People have been raising the state of the road with me, especially at the top where the junctions with Morral and Butchill are. Now the construction on the new estate is nearly done, we need to speak up to try and get the road resurfaced. Since Craig started the petition in 2022, Amey have repaired some of the worst potholes, but the entire street needs resurfacing.”

It will increase the pressure if as many local residents as possible sign the petition.
