Since 2021, Cllr Craig Gamble Pugh and Bridget Kelly have been surveying the views of thousands of residents online, via leaflets & from knocking on thousands of doors. Road safety & speeding has been the top issue.

Implementing highways changes is ludicrously expensive, and budgets are limited.  All too often, measures in one location result in problems elsewhere nearby the next area.

Last year we called for  a similar approach to that currently underway in other areas of Sheffield, where a traffic plan is made for the overall area.

Some of the issues which have been raised with Bridget by residents in our area include speeding on Lound Side, The Wheel & Yew Lane; joy riding on Wordsworth, Tunwell & Monteney and dangerous and inconsiderate parking by our schools- (Lound Jr, Ecclesfield Primary, Monteney Junior and Coit) and shops- particularly on Station Road.

Many people already signed our petition calling for a Traffic Action Plan for Ecclesfield and Chapeltown. If you didn’t sign it before, please consider doing so now.
