Many people around Ecclesfield Park have told me they’re worried by the delays to the promised park improvements. I live almost opposite the park and have four young children, so I do not want to have to wait any longer before the much-needed improvements begin. I believe Ecclesfield Park should be a jewel in the crown, so let’s make our views known.

These improvements are to be funded from Public Health Funding and S106 funds- these had already been allocated to the park.

You might have seen my other petition calling for parks in our area to get a fair share of a new funding pot called the Better Parks fund. This is extra to the funds already allocated to Ecclesfield Park. I want Ecclesfield Park to get cash from the new fund too, but the more things are delayed the more chance that money will be allocated to the ‘usual suspects’- parks on the other side of the city.
