Greenbelt must be protected from government planning law changes Craig Gamble Pugh
Sign our petition to protect our local greenbelt and green spaces from development.
We need to use brownfield land- areas previously built on- to meet the need for new housing. However, there are new planning laws brought in by the Liberal Democrats and Conservative parties when they were in coalition government together. These new laws make it more difficult to protect green spaces.
However, while other parties are using this to scaremonger and worry people, Labour has drawn uo a plan which aims to meet housing needs by focussing on brownfield stes closer to the centre of the city.
“Our green spaces and the green belt are particularly important to people here in Ecclesfield and Chapeltown,” commented local Labour Campaigner Craig Gamble Pugh, “so we are urging local people to suport this issue by signing our local petition to save the greenbelt.”
